Families Helping Families is a program of the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. The Families Helping Families program connects families in desperate situations facing abuse and neglect with caring members of the community to help bring stability to the home for the holidays. The program aims to 1) ease the burden of meeting basic needs so families can focus on breaking the cycle of abuse; 2) help those facing abuse on the road to healing, health, and hope, and 3) positively impact the lives of children in our community.
Generous Santas choose a family to adopt this holiday season from our online database. Each family has been nominated by their caseworkers for their determination to overcome their struggles and progress made in their respective programs. Once a family has been chosen, Santas can shop for items listed on the family’s greatest needs and greatest wishes lists, wrap them, and drop it off at our North Pole (4 Park Plaza, Irvine) on December 10th.
